Controlling aunt berates 16-year-old niece for trying to eat 3 plates of food, faces anger from her mom: 'She's been working all day without anything to eat'

One of the many great things about food is that it is something that brings people together. This is especially true when it comes to family. Who hasn't tried to put aside their differences for the sake of making it through Thanksgiving dinner? 

Unfortunately, it's also true that what we eat can sometimes be a point of contention with those we are related to. Arguments related to dietary choices are not uncommon, as one teenager recently found out to her detriment. After a long day at work when she hadn't eaten, she and her mom were invited to eat at her aunt's house. The food was so good that she wanted to go for a third plate, but her aunt immediately scolded her for it. Her mom took issue with this, but her grandma agreed that it was "rude" for her to eat so much. 

When this dilemma was taken to the internet, it's fair to say that people were baffled by this stingy behavior. Surely, this is a compliment to the cook.

In any case, I literally cannot imagine telling any guest, much less a family member, that they couldn't have a third (or fourth or...) plate.
